Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using SeoQuill ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the App. These Terms apply to all users of SeoQuill, including Shopify merchants who access the App through the Shopify App Store.
Description of Service
SeoQuill is a Shopify application that uses artificial intelligence to generate product descriptions, collection descriptions, and SEO metadata (meta titles and meta descriptions) for Shopify stores. The App is available at apps.shopify.com/seoquill.
The App operates on a credit-based system. Credits are consumed when content is generated. Credit allocations vary by subscription plan. Unused credits do not roll over between billing periods unless otherwise stated.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining an active Shopify store with an online storefront to use the App
- Reviewing all AI-generated content before publishing it to your store
- Ensuring that published content complies with Shopify's policies and applicable laws
- Verifying the accuracy of AI-generated descriptions before making them live
- Keeping your Shopify account and App credentials secure
SeoQuill provides a review screen before any content is written to your store. You must explicitly approve content — nothing is auto-published. You are solely responsible for any content you approve and publish.
Intellectual Property
AI-generated content produced by SeoQuill using your product data belongs to you. We make no claim of ownership over the descriptions, metadata, or other content generated on your behalf through the App.
The SeoQuill platform, software, design, and branding remain the exclusive property of SeoQuill. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App itself.
Credit System & Billing
SeoQuill uses Shopify's Managed Billing system. All charges appear on your existing Shopify invoice. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize Shopify to charge the applicable fees on your behalf.
- One credit equals one product or collection generation (description + SEO metadata)
- Enabling Vision AI image analysis costs one additional credit per generation
- Enabling AI image alt text costs one additional credit per generation
- Credits reset at the start of each billing period and do not carry over
- You may cancel at any time from within the App; access continues until the end of the current billing period
- Annual subscriptions are billed as a single charge at the discounted annual rate
Limitations of Liability
SeoQuill is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will be accurate, appropriate, or suitable for your specific products or market.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SeoQuill shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunities resulting from AI-generated content.
Service Availability
We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to SeoQuill. The App depends on third-party services including Shopify's API and our AI provider's API. Downtime or service degradation affecting these providers may affect the App's functionality.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time with reasonable notice where possible.
Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Shopify Partner Dashboard or via email to the address associated with your Shopify account. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of SeoQuill will be resolved in accordance with Shopify's dispute resolution processes where applicable.
